ABOUT SUMMER TRAINING CAMP

Are you ready for something completely different? If your child has attended previous camps with us, please understand that this program is not that.

We have redesigned camp this year, in coordination with our coaching team and kids program leaders to create a training camp that is focused on instruction, providing a fully immersive climbing experience through a curriculum designed to help your child achieve their maximum potential on the wall. Beginner and intermediate levels are available.

Your child will spend their time learning how to properly use their gear, setting, and meeting goals, how to support their body during their training, all while fostering their love of the sport.

Structured daily curriculum may include but is not limited to:

  • Safety orientation
  • Evaluation and goal setting
  • Warm up/cool down
  • Top rope and bouldering climbing and instruction
  • Gym etiquette
  • Climbing vocabulary

REMINDER:
This year’s training camp is not the camp of years past. If your child has attended previous camps, it is imperative that both they and you have proper expectations for this training camp. This is a 3 hour training camp designed for athletes who want to learn to climb or improve on their current climbing skills, it is heavy on instruction.

My child has never climbed before, is this camp right for them?

While we do accept registrations for the beginner level camp from children who have no climbing experience, we do urge parents to discuss the camp and expectations with their child beforehand. This camp is designed for those who are interested in learning about climbing, there is a structured curriculum that is very focused on instruction and climbing. Campers should be able to function in a small group setting independently.

How much climbing do the campers get?

While we can’t give a specific amount of time spent on the wall, the answer is quite a bit over the 5 days.

How do I know if my child should be in the intermediate level camp?

We will place your child based off of the answers provided during registration. Once training camp begins, if we evaluate your child as being better suited for the other category, we will make the switch and notify you.

Do you offer before/after care?

We offer before care as early as 8a and after care as late as 1p. The charge is $10 p/hr p/child.

Will food be provided?

Campers will receive a healthy snack, worked into the curriculum to learn about properly fueling our bodies as athletes. If your camper has any allergies/dietary needs, they are welcome to bring in a healthy snack from home. We do ask that items such as sodas, energy drinks, candy, etc. are not brought to camp.
